Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College: was established in 1985 by the Karnataka Central Diocese, Church of South India with a mission to serve the educational needs of women in our society. Character formation, academic excellence and service to the student community are our principles. While the College is open to students from different communities, nationalities and economic status, its commitment is in accordance to the avowed intentions of the founders i.e. education and upliftment of the Christian community. Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College is an offshoot of the Bishop Cotton Girls School and carries with it a rich tradition and 140 years of experience in imparting education.
The Chairman, members of the Board of Management, Principal and the faculty of Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College work tirelessly to take forward the vision and the mission of the institution to fruition. The College has a self - contained campus with 40 faculty members, 1000 PU students and 20 Administrative and support staff. Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College stands faithful to its motto "Nec Dextrorsum Nec Sinistrorsum", an extract from the Bible and a commandment given by God to Joshua, the new leader of the Israelites. Joshua was instructed not to lose his focus, to be determined and confident, turning neither to the right nor to the left but always "On Straight On". Based on this precept the young women who enter our portals are challenged to embrace the highest levels of integrity and justice to be humane and constructive members of society.
Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College recognizes the need to move forward. In true Cottonian spirit, the College looks to new horizons rededicating itself to the cause of women's empowerment. The institution encourages individuals to think and act as ethical leaders who help in the creation of a new order based on human dignity, equality and opportunity with social, political and economic justice. Some of them are Dead journalists society, COMPACT, COSMA, PHOENIX, Srujana Kannada Sangha, Sansruthi, Bishop Cotton Women's Christian Management Association etc.

To enhance literary skill and creativity of the students, our quarterly newsletter 'Perspetives' is published. Department of journalism publishes its own departmental magazine '2 CENTS WORTH'

Library & Information Center:
The library is well equipped with subject and reference books. It subscribes to international journals, periodicals and magazines. In 2005, a documentation center was started that contains newspaper clippings, which supplement the books and provides latest information in various fields of knowledge.
Laboratory:
The institution has state of the art laboratories with latest equipments to cater to the needs of the students to develop scientific temper.
Chapel:
Every Thursday the Christian students participate in various activities like attending chapel service, student Christian movement programs which help them to be committed to the church and the less privileged in the society.

The college has a tradition of visiting charity organizations once a year. Voluntary contributions are made by the staff and students towards these organizations. This tradition is carried out in order to create awareness among the students about the underprivileged inour society.
International Students
Certain number of seats are reserved for NRI students and overseas students. Students from nearly 40 countries study in various courses. There is an active overseas students cell which helps the international students with the internal legal problems, helping them to find the right place to stay and organizing international students meet frequently.
